NFL, National Football League, was founded in 1920. Today it consists of 22 teams from US cities. There are two conferences of NFL teams: AFC (American Football Conference) and NFC (National Football Conference). Each conference consists of four divisions, which includes four teams, and are called North, South, East, and West. League’s regular season usually starts in September, and ends in December of each year. Each team has sixteen games in regular season. After regular season six teams winners from each conference meet to play NFL playoffs. Last game, called Super Bowl, determines team winner, and is conducted in pre-selected place, usually is home city of one of the teams challengers. After a week selected best players from various teams are met in all-star game, Pro Bowl, which is held in Honolulu, Hawaii. NFL games are one of most popular sports entertainment shows in US. League games are broadcasted on CBS, FOX, ESPN, NBC, and NFL Network TV channels. Poll conducted by The Gallup Organization has shown that since 1972 football became most popular US sport.
